Of all the vitamins and minerals Vitamin A for Acne is most probably the most effective nutrient, it increases the body’s resistance to infection. This vitamin strengthens the epithelial (skin) tissue, also a very strong anti-oxidant to further protect the skin. B vitamins- we can classify these as a whole as they are all important for healthy skin, improving tone. A deficiency in B6 in particular has been associated with acne. B3 has been known to improve the flow of blood to the surface of the skin. You will find B vitamins in beef, brewers yeast, asparagus, liver, lamb, nuts, spirulina, wheat germ, whole grains, eggs, legumes, beans, sardines, and green vegetables.

Vitamin E, supports the immune system, and reduces the breakdown of collagen, it also helps to regulate the synthesis of sex hormones. It is found in apricot oil, beef, corn, egg yolk, almonds, safflowers, sunflowers and wheat germ.

Minerals

A deficiency in the mineral potassium has been associated with acne, it is found in all vegetables, apricots, dates, raisins, citrus fruits, banana, avocado, milk, parsley, potato, herring and sardines. Zinc for Acne is a great mineral which supports the immune system in fighting infections including bacterial ones on the skin as well as inmproving the healing of the skin and reducing scarring. It is also important in the healthy functioning of the oil glands in the skin. It is found in Animal products like beef, liver, egg yolks, milk, lamb, oysters, and seafood.
